I own a Hartmann Neuron keyboard, this synth is unique and is really good to make pads atmospheres and FX, give it a try if you can.
I can also recommend the polyevolver from Dave smith instruments, really good synth.

recently i had the wish to get a hardware analog synth after working with vsts only for some time. i was missing the fun factor i always had when i played real instruments like piano or drums.
i bought an old roland juno-60 and its a completely different great feeling to work with such an instrument. sounds way more massive then anything virtual analog i programmed in software. and i think it's different to play a real instrument, you get another deeper contact, maybe it is a kind of being, too... of course instruments of the lower price-level don't have unlimited possibilities, depends on what you want.
unfortunately i'll have to give my juno-60 back because it doesn't work properly. thats a sad problem with analog machines of that age...
so my suggestion for you would be not to try a virtual analog synth (which is only software in a hardcase with knobs if i am informed right) but a real analog synth. roland sh-101 should be great for example. or if you have the money a roland jupiter.
btw: yahel works with software only as i read on his webpage www.myspace.com/mentris |
