I love progressive music. Let it be house, trance, breakbeat or some other musical form of expression, I like the idea that the song is evolving during its lenght, that it maintains the same basis but is gradually growing into something bigger than what you thought it was in the first place.

One of my friend calls it symmetrical music. I think it's quite feminine music, because the feminine mind likes to progress and masculine mind likes to jump from one thing to another. A progressive song starts with simple elements and begins to build and gather energy for the moments to come. When you're dancing you are either gathering energy or releasing it. This is the time to gather energy.

Many progressive songs have a breakdown. I love breakdowns... not very long breakdowns in the beginning of the party but I still need some silent gaps that give me time to take a deep breath while I'm gathering dancing energy for the night to come. Later at night much longer breakdowns are welcome as they give me time to rest a little in the middle of the crow and feel the rushing energies inside me. And the energy afterwards is incredible, when the beat starts again and the song is suddenly filled with all these interesting things going on. I have felt many times that I could jump to the roof or off the sky. This is the time to share the energy you have gathered before the breakdown.

Many times I get lost into my thoughts while hearing progressive music, and I forget about the music completely. But then something interesting happens in the music that draws my attention back to it. And finally, I prefer to listen to it with closed eyes as I become more sensitive to the sounds and structure of the song when no visual data is coming into me.

Just a little post I wanted to share with you. Please let us know what you've experienced.           http://musicandhappylife.blogspot.com/

Music is like a woman.
Prosgressive is when you meet her, flert with her, become friends, talk about common interests in life, joke around a bit, flert some more, start kissing, touching each other, take her clothes off slowly, enjoy the foreplay and get to feel each other's bodies and know what are the the intimate and interesting things that make her heart beat faster, slowly enter her and make sweet love, taking your time and not racing towards an orgasm. Even after you have come, you still kiss her and still flirt with her just like you did at the beggining of the night when you first layed eyes upon her beautifull form.

Full on is like garabbing her arm and violently do her up the a*s, racing to the finish and as soon as that comes, you simply get dressed and leave.

trance bodies: notes upon atmos -raumwelt signal, 6 am NYC

the sun comes up and the tracks melodic intro is beckoning the rays forth and unto the dancefloor. The tribal beat starts contorting each tired dancer in its own way until our feet give out from under us. a great cry is heard as the atmospheres are added to the groove. the suns energies are now working with the beat, the groove, etched into each dancers mind, until slowly slowly ever so subtly more and more sonic layers push each man and woman down a deep and dark tunnel that only few can find, if standing on the right part of the dancefloor with the right angle of the sun the singular beat barrages each mind into euphoric oblivion.

I agree with most of what you said except that when you compare men and women by saying that women like progression and men like to jump from one thing to another. I, for one, think that women are more spontaneous and help us out of some routines that we create for ourselves. Just my 2 cents.           Load Universe into Cannon. Aim at Brain. Fire.
