Hi all,

my debut album came out on Ektoplazm yesterday, and I just wanna say thank you to the dear members of this forum, because most of what I learned I got from here! This forum is a really valuable source of information, and I learned a lot from you all. As isratrance has slowing been dying as some say, this part of the forum has stayed strong and vibrant and I hope it stays that way

So, check it out, the album is free and naturally it is brilliant and motherfucking awesome, hehehe

Heres the link, thanks again everyone

THanks And of course it would all be worthless without the expert mastering that turned a pile of shit into gold, hahaha

Really nice. Listened to it last night On my new Dybaudio hifi speakers (first time using them).

Can I ask what gear both soft n hard was used?

Thanks guys! And of course you can OzMike!

So the most important piece of gear in the making of this record was definitely this:

http://www.2caudio.com/products/aether/#_overview

Its a reverb VST that can do some crazy reverbs, and theres at least two or three instances on every track. Purchasing Aether actually made me develop this music style, because after I bought it I started making tracks around 60 BPM to have enough space to be able to really hear the awesome reverb effects it can do.

In terms of hardware I used the Doepfer Dark Energy on a lot of tracks, thats responsible for the analog feel, and the Elektron A4 on one or two tracks.

In terms of VSTs, theres a lot of Omnisphere on here, thats actually doing most of the dubby chords, and some Massive and Sylenth1, mostly for basslines.

And of course a shitload of field recordings, either my own or from freesound.org. A lot of field recordings were actually pitch shifted directly in Cubase, I love the distortion the Cubase pitch shifter creates on samples.

I hope that gives you a general idea whats going on here

Cheers & thanks for the info mate. Good to hear/see what was used on a release for once. Wish I had a Dark Energy but my modular will make up for it lol. Keen on that reverb. Thanks again           Cuntus Maximus.

glad your album finally found its way to the public instead of making it collect virtual dust on your hard drive. it needed some asskicking to get it out ;-)

about the album: this is music with a twist, nothing to be put in genre or style specific boundaries, maybe a release you will need to visit several times to really get your head around it.

@OzMike: Youre a lucky bastard, my Dark Energy is my Methodone for not having a modular. I want one so bad...if a windfall of moneyy hits me thats my next purchase! And check out that reverb, I love it!

@klippel: Thanks for kicking my ass to release this Even though I has my doubts at times if this should ever see the light of day, Im really glad its out now!

And thanks for this sentence "free your mind and open it up to a rewarding multiverse of ketamine drenched subaqueous landscapes full of weirdly pitched voices and stumbling beats, the land of the gay satanic hippie", ill put that in my obituary and on my gravestone, hahaha           Check out my album: http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/gay-satanic-hippie-tiefenrausch

Yeah I'm lucky to build a modular. I'm moving in to a house end of this year and the basement will be my studio so inspired to set it up well.

You can take a look at my design with the help of www.equinoxoz.com in this thread http://forum.isratrance.com/modular-synthesis/88-187544/page3/ it'll change a bit depending on budget bit not significantly. Mostly dropping drum modules for some filters & a quirky 8 bit style vco.

Cheers           Cuntus Maximus.

@supergroover: Indeed, the meat-eating GSH from psynews in full effect, hahaha What makes you so surprised, did I seem to stupid to open Cubase?

@makus: I enjoy what I did now, especially since the reaction has been mostly very positive, but without Klippel I never would have gotten to the point of actually sending it to mastering and trying to get it released...           Check out my album: http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/gay-satanic-hippie-tiefenrausch
