What studio gear do u think is a must for a psytrance studio? im going out on a shopping spree next month, and im still not 100% sure wich gear i want.

Here's 2 lists. one for stuff i want really bad (A) , and wich im going to buy - and one for stuff i think would be nice, but im unsure about (B).

(A):

Monitors - Adam p33a (they sound soooo good)
Soundcard - Motu 828 MKII USB.
synth - korg radias rack
Midikeyboard - M-audio axiom 61
Mic - Audio technica AT4040 or 4033
FX - TC Powercore firewire

And some cables, and other small parts that i dont think is necessary to mention.

Now thats the stuf i really want, but suggestions for substitutes are off course welcome

Here the stuff im unsure about, but thinking of buying.

(B)

Tascam US2400 (should be great after what ive heard)
Alesis andromeda A6
Access Virus TI desktop
Nord rack 2
Nord rack 3
Roland v-synth XT

the budget is pretty large but for the synthesizers i can not use more than around 5000 Euro / 6000 US$

i dont want to regret buying some of this expensive stuff, so if u have better suggestions - im listening

sounds like too much stuff at same time....
take it slow instead... or you wish to get a good discount?

my list in no special order right now:
X-station midicontroller
a midi interface
a new soundcard
Congas
a stereo pair of mics, probably condenser,
a shure 57 mic
a bigger mixing desk
a pair of nearfiled monitors... probably Yamaha MSP10 STUDIO..

right now my budget dont fit all these stuff

Hello Digital Psyence ,
Well i can tell you that list A has some nice choices , myself i have the Adams ( s.2.5 a) and the motu 828 mk II and the powercore firewire..
the Adams i wouldnt trade for anything ,
the soundcard i would think about a fireface 800 from Rme , and for controller i had the novation 25 , was one of my best buys , the 61 would also be a nice suggestion i think ,
as for the powercore , nice reverbs , some other nice fx's but i would maybe also think about the Uad-studio pack , which has a really apraised fairchild clone compr. or both , hehe ,
but these are quite expensive solutions , but also nice ones            3ó BooOoM ShanKaRA 3ó

@Rishi

i also want the uad studio pack, i just forgot to put it on the list
Mmmmmm ADAM 2.5a i have never lisened to them....the hexacone material makes a major difference in the sound dont it?
Fireface, does it have many line in's, and a virtual mixer like motu?

@ orange-atropa

Yes, but they have just made a USB version 2 - wich i think should be better.

@ sy000321

i think it sounds good, but i need to get my own hands on it before i decide....it looks like a powerfull mean machine

The A6 pisses over the radias (from what I've heard from it anyway). Watch out for Korg, they really push the marketing and overhype their synths...and it just came out...let the price drop a bit first.
Get a plug that will let you load up some wavetables or a Waldorf and you are set.
Anyway a cheap sh-101 is a great dedicated bass (and lead) synth. I also see a lot of synths, but no nice outboard compressor (or at least a UAD-1). You won't add too much to the total price, but will get a much nicer overall sound from your synths. Think about a Creamware SCOPE as well, they have killer soft synths.

hello!

my view on this: GET THE VIRUS TI!!!!!!!!of all the synths you mationned, this one is the most sought-after see www.access-music.de this synth blends seemlessly with your sequencer
i have the Virus C and it is the most crazy thing in my studio, the sounds have INFINITE possibilities.

soundcard ok, although i would personaly go for RME, ESPECIALLY if you are running on a PC!!!!!!!!

let me strongly suggest the UAD-1 powered plug-ins card, www.uaudio.com for details...i have it for many years and is still very precious to me.

with your budjet (!!!) i would suggest this, after years of shopping and using:

-Adams
-RME soundcard
-UAD-1 Ultra Pak
-Virus TI Keyboard (can be used to control all virtual synths in your PC and is of awesome quality and feeling)
-Nord Lead 2X ( www.clavia.com )
-Tascam US2400 controller (799$ at www.jrrshop.com !!!)
-Auralex acoustic treatment panels
-a very good PC (chipset 939, AMD X2 cpu)
-a legit copy of your favorite sequencer
-still some money? VSTis from: Arturia, Ohm Force, Native Instruments...

beleive me, you wont regret ANY of these!!!!!

good luck,

felix

Yes i know, korg & Roland also think try to make their products seem better than they are. sh101, love that synth - and want it to, i just didnt put it on the list because i will get it through ebay sometime.

the reason u dont see a outboard comp on the list is because, when i can afford it, i will build 2 different models. The SSL4000 mixbuss comp, and the G1176 Clone. info @ www.gyraf.dk

Creamware scope is pretty expensive

@ tribalizer

i hear u on all your suggestions, glad u mentioned the US2400, it has just made a insane price crash at all shops, and i think its the BOMB when mixing

Those Auralex panels, i heard the basstraps isnt worth anything - and thrust me i need bass traps that works in my square room

My overall budget for everything (PC, hardware, software & acoustic treatment) is around 15.000Euro

I guess u forgot:

1. Patch developer
2. Composer
3. One or two mixer engineer
(if ur composer is good and fast enough)
4. One mastering engineer
5. A label to distribute their product
6. 300-400 radio stations and 1 MTV all over the world to distribute the product
7.Drugs and call girls in case product fails
