I search for a tool which is the opposite to a vocal removal tool. something that'll remove the music and leave me with the clean vocal.

any ideas?

when you find that vocal removal tool do the following:

1. make a copy of the soundclip
2. remove the vocals from the second clip (using the 'vocal removal tool')
3. invert the second clip
4. mix paste it with the first clip

in sort this means vocals = song - music

of course all that will work if you find that 'vocal removal tool' which will *only* remove the vocals and nothing else from the music (which is something that in practice cannot exist)

good luck           http://triplex.trance.net

Hello Tzahi, good to see you here
i dont think there is a way to remove the basics and stay with the vocals, but if the basic is not too loud maybe with good filtering and EQ you can make it disapear.

nice thinking triplex, but as you said it wont do it
because there are small changes in the sound when you use vocal removal kinda small glides and stuff.

thanks for the ideas guys. (hello arie!;) )

triplex, sound like a good idea! i'll try that out.

reason I need a tool like this is for lip-sync animation. instead of animating lip sync manually there're tools that does it just by reading the wave file itself. some tools suck but ther're one or two that does a great job. only problem is that - if I want to lip-sync a song then the instruments will be considered as speech too. the stupid program cant make a difference between a man saying "aa" or a kick. heh

anyhow.. imo, its wierd there aren't any tools for that. there're many vocal removers but there's nothing that does the opposite.
