Today there are chemicals which can get sprayed onto weed, i.e. that it looks better, better taste an so on.
Even hairspray is on some weed.
So if you can best is growing your own stuff.
And from that you can make your brain burning power shit  |

I have found that psychedelics are too distracting for me to write much of anything in the studio - however they can be great for learning. Sitting down and really LISTENING to a reverb effect as the parameters changed, or comparing a stereo reverb to a mono, or different delays, etc while jotting notes down has really helped me understand their placement in the stereo field.
True, I could have done this sober, but as it has been said - the drugs help you get into a zone of you and the music.
One of the things I enjoy most is taking a break from a piece I've been working on and listening to it while stoned. It really is like hearing it for the first time in many ways, and usually it gives me a LOT of ideas to persue later. I just have to remember to write them down.
But I have yet to compose anything sensible while in an altered state. The best time for me is the day after a good trip when my body is back on the ground waiting for my mind to fit back in my head.

yes they treat our natural drugs with evil stuff sometimes,(all for the money=/ ) thats the down side, you never know what it contains, so best is like you say EYB grow it your self or buy from friends that do...

Hey Superglue, can you site some of your sources that you're referring to when you say LSD, Peyote, and Psilocybin "destroy your body and mind" please? I have been studying this at my university, taking anatomy, neurochemistry, and brain/mind/drug classes as well, and none have them have given us any conculsive evidence that LSD, Mescaline or Psilocybin have destructive effects on the body or mind. In fact, all of those drugs are less toxic to your body that aspirin.
MDMA has been shown to deteriorate neural web's in mice, and the effects show to be devistating...so yes I would stay away from that.
Furthermore, the concept of addiction is rapidly changing. Saying marijuana isn't "physically" addictive, but is "psychologically" addictive is a joke. Even video games are physically addictive. It concerns your reward pathways in your brain...you keep doing something to get pleasure out of it and your brain chemistry changes...it expects the pleasure to continue...when you stop smoking weed you become a bit more irritable, and I know I can't wait to smoke a bowl after a hard day's work.
psychological addiction = physical addition
It might not be as addicting as coke or meth, but the addiction is there, its developed in a different, less harmful way, but youre lying to yourself if you say you arent addicted. Yes you can stop, but do you want to? No, and thats because of your brain chemistry (physical)
thc also doesnt heal mental diseases. it makes them worse. if you have a history of schizophrenia, and you smoke weed or do psychedelics, it can make your condition much worse. thc is being used to treat chronic pain, increase the appetite, and some physical problems like swelling of the eyeballs (glaucoma).

all that being said...i love to smoke a bowl before laying down some tracks, it increases my focus and sometimes creativity.
but its an interesting ally, because it effects everyone differently, some of my friends become incredibly stupid, and some smoke it to pull all nighters programming, and end up with some fantastic code. I know if i smoke too much, i'll end up playing with a single sound and get a bit too involved and not get much work done...so I have to be careful not to get too stoned if i want to be productive.
its different for everyone! try for yourself and find your right limit, if its 0, a little, or a lot!

Don't want to sound like a paranoid but the reason goverment medics dont approve drugs is not because they are so bad for health.. Fact is that cigarettes and Alcohol is approved.. And Alcohol is many times worse than LSD, phisically speaking it just devours your liver, and is highly additctive. The reason that governments prohibit LSD for instance is IMO because ppl using synthetic drugs will be much less productive to society and thus are a pain in the authorities behind.. The so called Democracies, is only a name that covers behind them a big factory of workers, that under a state of so called freedom are bound to their working place and the need of growing their capital for the rest of their life. When u become a synthetic hippie u become outcast and dont serve the idea's that your government wants u to fulfill.
And dont call me a paranoid.. it's just there are at least 25 ppl following me every given moment ---->>>> GO AWAY !!!

As far as music creation under the influence drugs - A very individual matter... already been said .
When it comes to the influences , and good vs. bad in the drug lord, I honestly don't think that people know what their talking about ... ("chemical drugs aka LSD , MDMA and their natural bro'z like Peyote(Mascaline) and Fungus destroy your body and mind...")<- ?!

And - NO - You don't need to take drugs to make Psytrance music If anything, I agree that it's difficult to create under the influence... But what about inspiration, vision, creativity, drive, etc.. aren't they an essential part of the creation? - Think about it

i was a weed smoker for quite a long time (doing it 24 hrs), but now, i've stopped, though i still do it at parties & stuff like that (once a couple of weeks).....i clearly feel that my mind is much more clearer & works better.
just one question though, anyother natural ways to achieve the same state as being stoned or drugged (shouldn't involve meditation for a week continously )

Aren't you people getting a bit offtopic here ? It's not a discussion about how good or bad drugs are
Fact for me is that i dont touch any drugs anymore (incl. alchohol and cigarttes) and I enjoy making music so much more without chemical substances. It has sharpened my senses and I work much more creative without drugs that only did one thing. Slowing me down physically and mentally!

SuperGlue I really hope that u dont think I intended to throw u away, and if u do then there is a problem either with your English or with yer sense of humour - I was joking about myself ( I really hope u allow me to do that )
About the topic:
There is no real need to use something external to create music. BUT I believe that former experiences do contribute and change certain things in sounds and atmospheres that are virtually impossible to reach when u r sober unless u r enlightened or stricken by lightning.
That ofcourse doesnt mean we all should go and gain experiences with hallucinogenics, but there is a definite place for them in this type of music as I see it.
Back to offtopic - yo my man SuperGlue eventho I was speaking of democracies and all quite laughingly, there is much more to it then just a laugh.. Democracies prison your mind and soul in the most remarkable manner - many think they are enjoying themselves... In this reality it is easy to be a slave to the system. Russians and Chinese were doing the same thing thru their communism but gained it using physical power.
