I have a problem with my computer lately. Every time I am using a lot of plug ins and overload my cpu my computer shuts down. I always had the habbit of loading too many plug ins and making my computer crawl to the point that it stopped functioning for some minutes untill it cooled down again. Did this habbit of mine burn my cpu? Is it better to avoid using too many plug ins in order to extend the life of your computer? Or is it some fault with my computer that was bound to happen and it just happened faster because I overheated the cpu? |

If you are sure it's overheating, I suggest getting a nice strong CPU cooler.

You have a few options:
-more memory
-a better cooling system
-a better processor
-try diferent hosts, cos maybe yours is buggy or not reliable. some hosts get a little funky when you push it too much
-and if does not work try to be more economic on the VST´s cos they take a shit load of memory. |

i would suggest adding more memory (you can buy loads of memory for cheap rates), use lots of virtual memory (if you have decent hard disk space). Also, try reinstalling your main music apps and plugins, maybe even your windows
i'm sure its nothing to do with the CPU heating up....cmon' overloading CPU doesn't heat it, overCLocking heats it! |
