hi, this thread won't help anybody making better music but still, it might be a topic which has to do with music making..

who of you makes music beside the job or school/studies, and who 'risked' making music full time and just somehow manages to get through life (because of money problems etc)?

i make the start, i'm studying and making music beside the studies.

all the best to you!

I was studying music at least 5 hours a day from 8 years old.
i know ppl who used to study over 10 for years with school etc.
Some times its more than a hobbie.

i used to work fulltime and make music part time but you really go forward slowly in this! I think of course you should be fulltime music but i understand that it's very difficult like me now have no money but make music fulltime! it's difficult man but everything is possible find the medium way! Parttime work and part time music maybe!

Thanks man! I'm happy to hear that! We had such a good time over there in Oslo. The party was great and from 2005's indoors this one is the one I will remember the best. The Oslo crowd was awesome and everyone was so friendly and the vibe was so great. I'm really happy about how the party turned out. Perhaps if you PM me a URL to a picture of you and I might remember! Thanks again!            Aural transmissions from the deep forests of Sweden

I'm 30 and study psychology. Music is my hobby, but periodically a very serious one. I don't want to earn my money with music (pressure/ dependance kills my creativity) but I'd like to get a job in the music related software-industry later.

I have always different periods, sometimes completely concentrating on my music (about 8 hours/day, like a fulltime-job) or intensively concentrating on my studies. This way I get good results on both fields and I don't want to loose one of them.

BTW: I would find it very interesting what you study or which jobs you are doing. Perhaps you write a line about it.

I studied psychology, am working with http://www.cytopia.org, and also making my own music as well as working part time... looking for new job that is more interesting and can support myself with... I dont think i will be able to support myself just making music, its for the fun of it and any money made is an extra.
