Music and US Psytrance (Psychedelic Trance) scene today

I am a musician by ear, not by instrumental skill. Since active in the psytrance scene and infected in 1993-1995 I though I will never look back for another music gender and scene, not until lately I realize that I am wrong and getting sick if it, especially here where I tried to treat it as my new home. (However I still respect the creativity of it). The whole idea has changed, the driven changed, the concept has totally changed, especially the purposes include the inner mastermind from most individual who got involved (changes is good but this changes goes to another direction that I never expected from my inner soul). Now, here and there you will still find a real rare soul, but most of the organizers or activist that I have work with, pure garbage. Too much chameleons. The sad thing is many people think that drugs (psychedelic drugs) could change people personality. But when someone casted to be an a$$whole, he/she will still be an a$$whole. No matter how many dozes the drugs ingested, and looks like they never got high enough because they don't want to realize that they are already in the highest consciousness even without the drugs. Some substance could open some virtual windows for individual perspective who has no ability to see these windows without substance (this is what we call psychedelic trance moment), maybe some of them has already see what's behind that windows, but it doesn't mean that they will jump out to be apart of that "wonder" reality behind that window, because it's looks too real and they are too scare to face their soul. Or they have been too spoiled with the golden "time and space" cage that has change their natural individual from generation to the next generation (this is the only evolution theory I believe) and seems like they are enjoying the weird tentacles that sucking up their blood from their system in everyday life, hours by hours. So they still stay as whoever they are as before or after this so called trance experience, and this is even worse compare to people that never experience this trance experience. So there, the a$$ "whole" still will be an a$$ "whole".
We are all trying to survive, but many people hiding behind all those "sweet words" such : positive, spiritual, peace, good energy, soul circle, benefit, family, community, whatever here and there for their own rotten greed (I don't have a problem with those words, I think it's a beautiful thing, the only problem is I am sick of rotten agenda/people whose hiding behind those words) and of course none of them will admit so because the are to scare to face their soul that haven been locked. I wish I haven't known that they wearing a mask so I don't have to be a "negative" individual.
Will I be attack with 'positive "holy" words' by making this post ?

Great post!!!!Much better than I have ever written.I always come across as cryptic and riddles.My shamanic journeys changed the way I see but I'm still an grasshole with a little more wisdom.
I know this one cat who took a vision quest
and was abandon by his entire glory of light word using tribe like you speak of.He recreated a psy/family in the same town and still to this day deals with those "negative"light speakers.Don't let whoever you speak of push you away from a great experience.Below are a few things I remember hearing:
-what we do not understand we have no right to judge
-great minds have purpose others have wishes
-facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored
-building community through celebration
I myself call them "tricks of light" and will protect them as well.I have faith that all these hippie tongue twisters will wake up
at the correct moment.
The golden days haven't arrived yet so please
find the positive in it all and keep dancing

I know what you're saying in general although something in particular has triggered your posting. It saddens me to hear you have to say this. I don't doubt your understanding of this all and hope that events in the future will swing the pendulum of outlook to the other side. It always changes. Shards of truth collect and reveal bigger images. you know.

i am sorry to hear that you have had experiences that have led you to those thoughts. i cant say that i dont see what your saying. i have really enjoyed your art over the years in going to parties in nyc and my experiences at trance parties have not been empty. Although i no longer use drugs I still go to trance parties and dance all night. my experiences are much more intense this way. my experiences at trance parties have led me to a different spiritual path but the parties were still very important in developing a better awareness of the world. I wish that you find some meaning in what has happened and realize the service that evil plays.

i don't need anybody to feel sorry about me, feel sorry about your self, as a fact (i feel sorry about you guys can't see this or pretend not to see this) and i don't need any judge in my eye's freedom. i don't make drugs is a single point of my view, even most record labels i know know nothing to do with psychedelic anymore but just cokes. if you are open minded, don't say it, just practice it. so relax there and i wish to let this topic to fade away by it self. i don't need any priest either. i don't need an academic teacher or maha-guru from the mountain to teach me what is esoteric and elements of universe is. do your thing in your freedom cause you was born free, just don't harm others and don't disturb your neighbor and don't lie to your self.

There will always be people who hide their true interests behind flowery words, and allowing ourselves to hope that a single subculture would be immune to such politicking is pulling the wool over our own eyes. This is an unfortunate part of human nature in the 21st century. Self-interest is a powerful motivator.
I think its important that we not allow bitterness about this to infect us, lest we inadvertently take on those qualities that we hate in others. |

This isn't just a problem with the psychedelic trance culture, it's a problem with a lot of recent American culture-and I say this because I don't see it anywhere else due to the fact that I don't travel a lot but, I could be wrong. I see it everywhere from the commercials on TV to the people I encounter while at work, they use the cloak of spirituality, love, peace of mind, balance of mind, body and soul, love for the body, meditation, YOGA(a huge one) yet they are as mean as cobras, judmental, neurotic and clueless on top of it. Enlightment has been reduced to a style or a fad and unfortunately, psychedelic trance (though not mainstream in anyway) has fallen into the "fad outlet" catagory by people looking at it in such a primitive POV-drugs, music and pretty images. That's a very easy way of looking at it and NO it's not right but, that's just kind of the way the collective mind works. Your right though, unless under the influence of said controlled substance, one won't be able to experience the world as wonderfully as they did when they were high. I often have to look into myself and ask if I am one of these people. I won't rely on anyone elses judgement to say if I am or if I am not but I'll find out in time.
In the mean time, enjoy what you can out of the environment, not everyone behaves in such a negative manner. The psychedelic trance culture still has is its other worldy beauty and continues to rope in some truly wonderful beings on top of the many leeches who flow in. Hope I made some sort of sense

AMEN!!!!! Interesting post with that said....
I have been lucky (if you can say that) in traveling a bit in different world scene and is it sad to see, that no matter where you, is always the same BullShit!!!!
EGoS, everyone wants to a be DJ or producer and the worst is the mindless idiotic high school drama.
I personaly have never felt more alone that a in burning man festival with several thousand people with so called friends asking my self what the fuck am I doing here. My feeling have nothing to do with burning man as a festival. Just personal opinion.
By the way is not only in the US, (america is a continent but that is different post)
