I recently discovered Mark Farina's Mushroom Jazz series and I must say, I'm totally hooked. I tried to put this kind of music in a genre but I can't. Trip-Hop/Jazz/Psy ... Its got elements of each. Concidering that I'm a newbie to this music, I'd like to get to know a little bit more.
I've only heard Farinas compilations... are there any others out there?... and who started this trend? Till now all the tracks I've heard are made by different artista. Theres not one that shines more than the rest.

Sounds interesting. You say a mixture of trip-hop/jazz and psy?
Have to check it out.

well ... ive seen very subtle elements of psy. lots of jazz and trip-hop though. sometimes it has an electronic house kind of beat which would be psy if you up the tempo a notch  definitely worth checking out though... especially mark farinas earlier mushroom jazz compilations (2-3) ... the 2005 one is pretty bad. |
