Haven't seen a thread regarding this sublime group from Iceland. They have got that distinct Icelandic sound. Actually, they have that distinct sound of a group working in a remote lighthouse on the coast of Iceland. Very gentle, introspective and flowing electronic music. I only have Yesterday was Dramatic, Today Is OK released on Thule, but am really looking forward to hearing some of their later albums. Apparently, they have released an album on Fat Cat in the last year.
Their debut album is an emotional lullabye for that inner child inside all of us. Granted, the theme that they expound on in that album is sometimes maybe a bit too explicit, and it feels like you are being beaten over the head (don't get me wrong, it is very exquisite beating). However, Mum set out to express something on that album, and I don't believe that the imposition on their part is unintentional; they have certainly accomplished what it was that they set out to do. It is not an album that I will listen to every day, but when I do, I am never disappointed, as it is one of those pieces that can make you cry and laugh all at the same time.
Give it a chance if you haven't yet.

I like mum's music. its really calm and chilled music that you can understand has influences from the beautiful nature of iceland. the two girls in the band are amazingly cute. I currently have:
please smile my noise bleed 2004
yesterday was dramatic - today is ok
summer make good
finally we are no more

I think finally we are no more is their best album.           `Bottomless wonders spring from simple rules, which are repeated without end` Mandelbrot
