Is there any interesting tricks you can create using more than one delay?
Just wondering... |

well fruity loops has a build-in plugin named delay bank. so u can have several delays. browse through the presets (if u have FL) and u will hear some examples whats posssible with it. sounds very nice sometimes |

chorus is one delay,no feedback, around 30/100 ms with modulation.
maybe you could try on a send , second delay that delay the first delay line ,few ms with modulation or sync to tempo,or first tape delay with modulation to change the pitch and second one that delay that. |

sure there´s lot of interesting stuff one can do.
in ableton is a pretty nice tool included, the filterdelay. u can set up three delays with different eq and time/rythm settings and i like the result..... by only one plugin. it´s gettin really cool by addin a graindelay with some glitchy settings and maybe one more pandelay or atopan or whatever. so combining them can be very funny and interesting imo...

well, you can do stereo widening - using very short delay times and hard panning to simulate 'outside the speaker' effects.
as for longer freaky delays. this is how i do them...
DELAY UNIT 1
line 1 = basic ping pong. enough feedback to ping & pong once only. synced to 1/2 bar or thereabouts. unfiltered.
line 2 = central delay. panned in the centre, enough feedback to happen twice, synced to 1/4 bar or 3/4 bar (depending on whether you want 'chasing' or 'split' delay sound). filter if you like it but i prefer to leave it unfiltered.
both of the delay lines then go into another delay...
DELAY UNIT 2
this is where you can get freaky. start with centre panning, medium feedback, synced to 1/1 or 2/1, with a bit of saturation and/or gentle HP + LP filtering with resonance.
then experiment with switching to pingpong, or reverse... neat, huh? you can also use this to set up 'chaser' delays - use shorter values for delay line 2 and sync it so you make echoes that chase each other around the stereo field. try filtering the first two delays... or set up a third delay line in the first unit, a heavily LPd 1/8th delay that gentle pans... all manner of options are available!
