It's been driving me nuts that I can't listen to my mix on headphones with my Audiohile 2496 card, as it only has 1 x set of outputs, which are used by the monitors (obviously)
I have another spare card, which I just found out I can put into the same machine and the software will treat it as another set of in/out's.
Cubase immediately swapped to playing out the second card when I installed it, so I had to change the monitor cables to the new card so I could hear anything - I tried to do this in software, and in the device panel in Cubase but it simply wouldn't work.
My setup consists of 2 soundcards, one with Monitors plugged into the outputs and one with headphones.
The only way I can see now of hearing my mix on headphones is exporting the whole song, and using the waveout configuration in Winamp to select the right soundcard.
Is there any way of getting Cubase to play out of the other soundcard. For the life of me I couldn't get it to work. |
