Greetings,
I've been using and relying on ozone 3 for complete / one stop mastering of mixes, and despite the many hours spent trying to achieve my type of sound i've never been totally satisfied with the results, hence ...
I've finally decided to break the shackles an go for something new ....
I'm looking for alternatives / recommendations for :
1) Multiband Stereo Imaging
2) Multiband Harmonic Exiciter
3) Loudness Maximizer - this i found really handy with dither and dc offset correction all in one.
Inserting the ozone in the mastering chain with other plugins, to use only one of the parts, causes too frequent CPU O/load and audio drops - a real snag in the workflow.
Very much appreciate your help and guidance!!
Cheers!!
PS - PC User.

I am using Ozone 4, which I think is a great upgrade from version 3. It consumes less CPU and the overall quality has been improved.
Also there is alot of very good presets with ozone 4, which is easy to tweak to your needs
Other than that, I would suggest only using a limiter, and try to make the widening in the mix instead.

thanx for the reply XuN!!
I did consider the upgrade ... but i'm thinking if i can't use the current version properly, i would suck at the upgrade too!! or maybe i just suck in general!!
i have a couple of web page tutorials which i have read and applied for version 3, tried and tested many methods - but truly- i suck!!
i managed to find a guy who has the waves plug-ins and he's been very kind to offer me to have a go at them.
may be a refreshing change.
I've heard alot about the PSP range as well as sonnox!
itching to try them too.
Cheers!!

I will say that in my case, I only use it for very small things. Becuase there is no way on earth I can master my own tracks where I live.
So if you don't have the right gear or surroundings, then mastering can be near impossible.

thanx for the reply elad ...
i found the waves limiters to be a bit too harsh for my liking.
i'm really digging the sonnox range and the inflator is a must have in any sonic arsenal.
still have to find a mastering reverb that will match the ozone.
cheers n b'om!!

master output should be left bare .... mixdown the track and apply to the mixdown track inserts ... that's how i usually do it!!
