Well, the news is pourin in from all the directions that MTV is broadening its multicultural niche with a new digital channel, MTV Desi, which will launch before the end of the year and cater to U.S. viewers who trace their heritage to India. MTV Desi will include content from MTV's international channels as well as original shows produced in the U.S. The channel takes the audience behind the scenes of the hottest gigs and bring them face to face with the creators of the Asian vibe w.r.t. massiv, d&b, underground, beatz and da Indian Electronica! From Ravi Shankar to Nitin Sawhney, Talvin Singh to DJ Cheb i Sabbah, Outlandish to MIDIval Punditz n' otherz... All fresh and exciting, with emphasis on culture and artists unique to the communities.
After all... there's more to Indian music than just what Bollywood churns out!
