Yes, its absolutely safe to download from online shops, especially www.cytopia.org 
The music comes straight from artist / label and is in the same quality as on CD (wave format).
The server and each computer used to do any work on Cytopia has anti virus protection. I dont see any reason to worry.
Is there anything in particular you are worrying about?

Credit card details... forgot about that. We never had any complaints; we use paypal; but most services these days are encrypted.
Paypal once duducted (took back) money that was paid to us, and sent us a letter saying the customer reported his card stolen. I thought it was wierd since I could not imagine someone stealing a creditcard and then buying psytrance. A month later the money was given back to us... I think credit cards online are quite safe, we havent had any issues other than this one time, and I havent heard of problems at psyshop or beatport, but I can only vouch for our own service at Cytopia.org or course .
