Hi
Endless discussion, techtalk, opinions etc.
Well it's time for a test. No more words, no more talk. Prove yourselves!
I've set up a blind test for all who want to know once and for all if they can blindely distinguish an MP3 from a WAV.
4 Types of music in 128kbps/192kbps/320kbps and WAV. And a poll. Place your votes. The solution will come later.

Techfreaks, don't touch your analyzers, don't touch wavelab, trust your ears!

Someone missed when this was posted in the dj section several months back
Obviously wavs sound better, but I've ran into decks that can't play them. To me it's not worh risking not being able to play a track you really want to just to have it in wav format. 320kbps works fine unless you're playing a live set or on a computer. http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

@ascension, burn wav on a data cd? that's nonsense. Just create an audio cd from wavs, its lossless and plays on every cd player.
if the wavs are OBVIOUSLY better, the test should be easy for you. prove that you hear what you say.

It was a Stanton, but it mighta just been a busted one .
Plus, wavs take up my hard disk space which I try to reserve for porn.
Plus plus, don't you guys know to play low quality mp3s of tracks around ones you've made so yours sound better? Duh! http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

take the test and let us know your solution. are you afraid? I suppose you won't tell the 320kbps mp3 apart from the wav. maybe you won't even find the 192kbps.

My copy of Nero refuses both 16 bit and 24 bit wavs. It MUST be an mp3. I hate it. |

I don't remember which program it was, mighta been nero. It was one computer and a couple of years ago. I'm really good at having problems with computers that not even our IT department can figure out, so I understand the skepticism

great idea!
i have sum decent harman/kardon computer speakers and i gotta say its really hard to distinguish between all 4 choices on them, i can only really tell between the worst and best sounding.
oh and killer site btw SCM, really digging some of the stuff you got up on it.
