nothing u can do to bring them alive.

yeah, sad but true...
mp3 is a type of lossy compression, wich means that anything taken out when compressing will be lost....

What frequencies are mp3s usually?
i know that a record needle are 20Hz to 20 kHz
so what rating would the mp3 have to be to have same quality? or frequancy? |

an mp3 will always loose something, it can't have the same quality or its size wouldn't change, so it woudn't make any sense...
but most of the music played on radio is mp3,
many radio stations get most of their musics and adverts through mp3,
but most won't accept mp3s with a rate less than 450k or something like that...wich normal mp3 converters don't even do, normally maxium is 320k...

And as for quality.........
What does it mean with the loss?
Does it mean that frequencies are lost?
I am lost.... haha
I do know, or think that best equipment can only handle 20Hz to 20kHz
in terms of what is the quality lost/ |

yes, frequencies are lost, and are not recoverable
there are compressions where u don't loose information, like winZip, but you can't access the file while its compressed...and the size won't be so reduced...
i think cd plays up to 22050hz...

Well, when you will decode it / decompress it -
this might be not so bad like on compressed mp3
so that's the best you got- no magic software for doing it.

Well, not a concept really- just decode the files back from mp3 to uncompressed wav- some frequencies will never come back- but i think you will barely feel the difference
If you need specific explanation on how to decode it back just reply,
peace
