CD source and ripped wav aren't the same, they're close.
Even if you rip digitaly, there are errors in rip, which means the rip will never be identical to the source. But it doesn't really matter; There are technologies (that are used automatically by the riper) to correct these errors, which are so minimal anyway, that you won't be able to hear them.

"Paranoid mode" (1X) is slow indeed.
however, ripping in secure mode (about 8X-9X) is not that bad (and it sounds perfect).

I think mp3'z is really for home use only , or even for mp3player use only .
I download mp3's to hear new music before i buy it.
Who play mp3'z on parties ?
DJ's play Vinyls mostly ,
I prefer to buy original CD's and Vinyls - not only because of the higher quality , original CD in original cover it's different than compressed data .
And what about the respect to the Artists , who make those great tracks ?
It's a lot of work too.

Respect ,

Peace.

But I prefer quality over speed!
I have lots of spare time, and now the summer vacation is coming.

Once you finish ripping/encoding, it stays there for ever.
So take those extra minutes for a better future of listening!
