relax dude. there is nothing wrong with ripping your cd's to play on your pc.
i use my laptop for a backup for all my cd's.
cd's dont last forever...
data do.
and for the q here, i use simple winamp.
it has a great sound algoritem that makes it the best mp3 player.
i tune the eq inside to full treble and bass but you should go for what u like.
its about taste.

AFAIK, All of MP3 players have the same conversition algorithm (DAC) wich was developed by the same guys who developed MP3 codec(what is actually an "algorithm"). So, the only difference between those players are in "ADD ONs".... (EQ, Plugins, UI, effects, DSP, etc).

cyber dude i guest u know what u r talking about.
but i tried few mp3 players without using the eq.
and the winamp sounds the best.
i would use musicmatch if the sound was as good as on the winamp.
because its got a great media library.
well now on winamp3 i have also a great media library.
so im happy.

Winamp3 is the best mp3 player. Lots of functions n stuff......
Well about settings its all about taste use the equilizer to ur advantage.......
