i know we had many theard like this but
i belive mine is abit difreant in away.
my question is how did mp3 have made anychange to you? if there any?
postive and nagtive?
evrybody in this forum sims to know that evryone who download mp3s from the net is a criminal and a thief. thats not the point of the thread.
and anyone in this forum whos talking about downloading if atacted by evryone else.
also not the point here.
i want to know if its made any difrence to you ?
and how do you think its effected the scane?
the way i see it in this forum its something that many done but not all admit.
so its got to effect many here. |

ill start
about 6 years from now when i was about 16-17
i disscoverd trance and was very passoinate about it
i wanted to hear as much as i can.
now if there wasnt mp3 and napster at the time
i would probely here what the cds stores in israel addvise you which is usaly the most minestream which was at the time infected, gms, spacecat maybe some more. i dont think i would have stayed so long intersted in this kind of music as i did thanx to napster interuced me to some new and intersting new sounds wich i was very exiceted to hear. and that sounds got me deeper and deeper in.
back then i used to trade foolish thing to do but that what you do when your young. anyway i met there manny ppl and lost touch with theme when i stoped tradeing and after my army service i lost touch completly. anyway today i see some of theme at the forum and some of theme are kind of known artist
and some i dont see or i do but they change thire nick name and i dont reconise it anymore. some of theme i see here in the forum talking to some one who asked how he could download something like he was the bigest scum on earth  .
kind of funny today i still download evryonce in a while i dont listen to trance as i used to do it just less intersting. i do buy whats good and i did it when i used to download to(its fun to get it all new and with the cover and all). i go to partys every once in awhile some times more some times less.
dipands on me and my friends modes(they to dont listen to trance as they used to). i still see whats on this forum everyonce im a while.
anyway for me mp3 is what really got deep in to trance beyond the mainstream and show me the other sides of trance and by doin it keeped me in it because i wouldnt listen to infected for 6 years.

I download a lot of albums when they first come out, but I buy most of them eventually, and if I don't they usually just get deleted within a little while..
Mp3's have given me tons of inspiration, illegally obtained or not, and I honor that.

i was thinking the other day how mp3 made me even more anxious
i used to have 10 or 20 cassete tapes in the car and that was just fine. then i installed a 12-cd changer and it was amazing! now i have 40 mp3 cds (or 400 albums) and not even close to be satisfied
other than that, i like it

Downloading mp3 is ok only if you're want to buy the cds and not only listed to the 1 minute samples before, or if it's for free like many finnish artists do in some sites.

If it weren't for this technology I might not have found trance ten years ago... some people misuse the privilege offered by widely available MP3s, but I have always been one to give respect to those that deserve it by purchasing the releases that I enjoy. Having all this music on my hard drive as a teenager generated a long-standing interest in collecting psytrance over the many years since. Every conscientious listener develops their own fair practice, within their means, as they grow to develop a love for this music that might otherwise have gone unkindled. Give it time...

for me mp3's are handy
they actually replaced my old tapedecks and are my "copies" so that the original cd's stay longer well intact
no situation is stronger then a heart that dares to love

Another thing they are handy in is if you want to rip the music from the original cds to the computer so you won't have to put them on the cd player every time you want to here one or 2 track from each album, plus they don't taking much space.

Mp3 get me really into....in all Electronic music, i used to like since i was a kid, but downloading mp3 make the diference.
i know downloading is a crime, and that it destroys the industrie. i confess i download everuthing i cant get, some times its very hard, sad and or expensive in a crapy city where everybody listens shit. I still try the buy as much as my budjet can cause theres nothing like having an original album! specialy 4 me!
Maybe its offtopic to say but i also confess to produce music with illegal software for the same reason, i wouldnt feel comfortable to make money with illegal stuff, but i cant justify the crime with my poor reasons, and i do feel bad to be a parasite of the industry. but a pooor guy in the midle in the desert cant do anything else, i hope i never get in to a jail because one of the things that i love in this life.
