I'm not officially planning on moving anywhere, but i was just wondering if there's any isratrancers out there who've moved to a place in the world where there are no trance parties. If so, was it difficult/easy to cope with? Do you even care? still find cool people? still dance? still "meditate" the psychedelic way?

Lately I've had this deep longing to be far away from everything; not in complete solitude, but far away from any major metropolitan area.

Well i moved to Seattle, Washington in August of 2007. I am pretty narrow minded when it comes to psytrance - i stick to the night time sounds There are hardly any parties with night artists out here, just 1 maybe 2 months ago with Ghreg on Earth who fucking murdered the place, but there were only about 5 people dancing : ( Can't blame the organizers for not throwing anymore parties but frankly i don't care

As long as i get my & my music everything is cool. The party situation isn't something im overly obsessed with or interested in As long as the music stays close to my heart everything is cool

theres no regular psy parties where I live in Reno, Nevada. Trance gets played at normal mainstream 'rave' type parties sometimes, which is nice, and it seems more and more people are starting to take notice (ABOUT DAMN TIME GUYS....), and we even threw a good party last summer that got a way better turnout than expected, so maybe things will be changing sometime soon... (crosses fingers)

So what I did to deal with there being no parties, is I bought a bunch of psytrance cds and a pair of CDJ100s and learned to mix. I figured SOMEBODY had to do it for Reno...          .

i lived in Lebanon for many many long years and there were hardly any parties happening, maybe one party every 5 - 6 months.. instead we had some really good gatherings, between friends, up in the mountains, great sound system, huge music, decks, and deco!!
come to think about it, this is how it should actually be, i would rather have those small nice gatherings.

something similar apply and for cyprus but add and the unpleasant interruption from the police chasing and trying to destroy every psy party ... hehehe is the location making any difference ?
... some nice close circle gatherings with hidden places and maybe some well organized party will come up from time-to-time

... so mainly as long as the music comes out of my speakers there is not a big deal if here the parties are on all the time or no ..

the trance must goes on ! ! !           ---

if you're moving or living in a non trance area, my only advice is: INFECT THE DAMN PLACE!!! throw parties! Make flyers! You'll see you're not alone and you'll be the area trance founder!

Looks like your "gatherings" were real parties indeed!!

starting a trance scene in any place is incredibly exciting! you get to be part of spreading the music, educating people about psychedelic art. The spirit is genuine, and uncorrupted by any commercial trash.
so I wouldn't mind at all living in a country where psytrance has a minimal presence, and build it gradually, rather than be in a place where the scene is used and abused.

Wow...moving out of the city to a forest reserve day after and we have a topic about this. I doubt I'm going to be find anyone around the place into dance music much less psychedelia.

I guess I'll have to make hurried visits back home to catch any parties. Should be a great change from the fast city life.

Well I havent really moved but I am spending a year in Georgia USA. Although there are certain tribes and communities of trance people a real party is a rarity. Instead I listen to trance with some open minded people on the side of a creek and look behind my back for cops. It sucks but Im not sad recently i went to the solistice party in San Francisco and it filled me up with energy to continue spreading the sound to the people ive met here in Southern USA. It is hard, I really miss the forest gatherings back home but as long as I have my headphones blasting I dont care where I am.
