Has anyone ever done this? More importantly has anyone ever done this between countries with different power standards? Say if I moved from USA to Europe and wanted to bring my studio over, will using power converters cause any issues that I would want to look out for?

IŽve bought alot of equipments when iŽve been in the US and brought it to Sweden.
My Rane TTM56 mixer and PODXT works great over here with a converter. By tomorrow ill get my Mackie HR 824mkII from US, the biggest issue when it comes to monitors is that they draw alot of power, i checked with the tech-spec on my monitors, they consume 135W each full load and the converter isnŽt dimensioned for more than 100W, i donŽt think it will be a prob but weŽll see
Ill give an update.
So check how much power your equipment consume in the manual. otherwise you should be fine

What kind of output (wattage) do you guys have there in Sweden? I would imagine that you might loose frequencies in your low end witch will affect your mixing to subtract 35 watts. HR824s have a pretty extensive low end range so yeah keep my posted im curious . I'm also wondering if converters might cause any issues with any hardware to create noise.

Wattage? depending on your house fuse
You mean voltage? 220V, 50Hz AC here
Umm i think you misundertood me, i mean 135w when you have MAX the amp, im not gonna mix in a 110dB/spl enviroment thats one thing thats for sure
So no loosing low freq is not gonna happen.
the only thing i can think of is that the fuse inside the converter might go pop when there is to much current passing throu

i moved my studio from israel to the U.S. and the only problem i had was the shipping.
My computer got squashed.
aside from that, everything worked fine.
as a side note, on the way back, i decided to pack my studio myself and carry it as overwhight luggage on the plane. It got back exactly as i shipped it and it cost less.

vegetal,
135w each will mean 270w both.
You should have at least twice the power from your converter for a proper operation. Meaning:
a converter at 600 v/a.
I've just recently bought a 750v/a converter for my Hafler P3000.

Yeah i know, thats why i have 1 converter for each monitor and nothing more attached to them.
Problem iŽve found is that most converters are only dimensioned to max 100W of outtake, and i bet my ass once you reach thoose heights in outtake the outtake starts to become nonlinear. WeŽll see how they work today =)

What you gonna need is step down transformers.....
the day you forget that any of your equipment need a transformer you'll be fucked.. I burned the amp of my old monitors long ago . since then I sold all the gear I bought in america that did not have a variable input.... lol !
you might have to pay duty taxes when you bring your stuff depending on how lucky you are.... as far as I know the best thing to do is sell the stuff that is easy to get here in europe like synths and stuff cause you can get them on ebay at a descent price .
the pc or apple often have a 110/240v input switch. and if they dont you just have to change psu. a lot of outboard gear are like that. so you might getaway with selling little stuff.
