Moving 2 cubase :) how do i setup my midi controller?

everything is working quite fine i guess beside the ability to use my midi controller...
weird...
i setup my audio output for creative ASIO 24 BIT / 96 KHZ
and midi input - USB AUDIO DEVICE [EMULATED] ( what's the emulated thingie? though it appears in fruity too and it works fine there)
and when i use the controller u see the "midi in activity" bar move up and down but i can't controll the vst instruments or anything else...

i remembered now that u need to set the input and outpud for a midi channel 2 be the controller and the plug in u want to control...
forgot that 
ok, works now.
