It's legal to sample and use in tracks. But it's not legal to publish on it without permission. However, everyone's doing it and I doubt the movie industry cares much about it. First off psytrance isn't a big genre, and there's not much money involved.           ________________________

hmmm its legal but phobium i think u have small mistake here...
its legal to release the track with the samples only 12 times i think or its 7 or its 12 ...
its mean like some artists used with some vocall and he have 12 releases with this vocall so u cant release more of this ...
so then u need publish ...

i'm dont sure on what i'm say but i'm remember somthing on it...

if i'm not misstaking, its legal to use a sample from a movie or a song only if its not more than 15 seconds.
like you can use a sample of a few words or a sentence but you can't use an whole conversation.
there are lots of tracks with Kill Bill samples for example and some of the artists didn't released them cause it was a long sample and they didn't want copyrights troubles...there are lots of examples like this...but the movie industry is certainly not interesting in some guy that use some samples from their movies.

the legality of it isnt relevant since unless you are simon posford or infected mushroom you wont get exposed to anyone who can take you to court for it.

I was thinking about making a post about this last night. A sample is a sample, no matter how long it is. You're copying something that is copyrighted, it doesn't matter how much you take. Done is done.           ________________________
