hi everybody,
sorry to bug you with this (a little silly) question, i have searched the manual and the cubase forum and this forum with no luck
is it possible to move the faders of a bunch of selected audio tracks together WITHOUT LINKING THE CHANNELS FIRST. the scenario is this: the project already contains many channel linkings, and in cubase it seems you cannot have the same channel belong to different linkings (so defining a linking to adjust the level of a bunch channels will delete previous links of any channels belonging to this bunch).
hope i was able to describe the problem well, and i hope somebody has a tip!
thanks for any suggestions, cheers,
dtd

Nope, not possible. The only other way I can think of to change multiple channel levels from one control is to send them all to the same group, so I'd suggest routing all the channels and groups you want to change to a group and change the level there.
However if you know the dB amount you want to move the faders, it's not difficult to look at the fader level (below the fader) for one of each group of linked channels and change it by the desired amount. If you already have lots of linkages going on it shouldn't take too long to do them all.

thanks Colin for confirming this missing feature. you're right, there are some other (although not the quickest) possibilities to solve the task.

not sure if it is linking or not, but if you just highlight all the channels in the mixer you'll be able to pull them all down together...

i think you saw it with LINKED channels (they also display as all selected in this case). in SX3 it is not possible to move faders WITHOUT linking them first. (he probably selected some channels, used a shortcut or context menu to link them, then moved the faders)

yeah you're right. anyway, its not always applicable easily: one might have many channels going to different groups and being linked in different linkings and then you simply want to move some faders together without destroying previous linkings or without having to assign channels to a new group just to adjust the fader.
i think it is a missing feature, due to the reasons above.

Just drag the mouse down the left of all the tracks to create a quick edit group and drag any of the faders down, they will all move down by the same amount. (If you have any automation hit O first to go in offset mode).
Oh oops! Wrong sequencer.
