MOTU MIDI Interface Problem

Don't feel like writing it all over again, so I'll just copy and paste what I wrote to MOTU's tech support (FastLane is the name of the USB Interface):

I recently bought a FastLane 2x2 and I have a problem with it.
I have a Yamaha CS1x synth connected to the IN and OUT ports of the FastLane. I connect the synth to OUT A. When working with Cubase and Cakewalk everything works fine until suddenly the A port stops working. The led lamp for A stops working, but in the computer it looks like it's working. Cubase shows that midi out is operating and Cakewalk shows in the system tray that it's working. But the lamp won't work. When I send a MIDI reset it sends it to both ports, but A led is not working and B led is working. When I try to close Cubase or Cakewalk is crashes the computer (alt+ctrl+del works). If I connect the synth to the B port then it's the same. B port stops working but is still working.
I tried reinstalling the drivers, plugging the USB cable in a different slot (I have a total of 4 in the back of my computer).

HELP MEEE!!!!.......... ):(

mm i don't understand in this thing a shit
but what i am looking for each time i have problem
(in case u use win2000/NT)
check event viewer log!
ALso define virtual memory in task manager to see how the shit works when u open/operate it.
And last thing, try create another profile in windows and work from it.
Also may be the progs/drivers or whatever u work with has its own logs?
Dunno if this helps though...

if so, try exchenging it for another one.
i mean come to the store and tell them this hole story.
tell them you would like to see how it works on their box, connect it to their PC/Mac, and see what happens.....
i suspect the experiment will succeed(the card will fail) and they'll replace your card.
unless you dropped the card and it looks smashed with a hammer :))

Yea I went to Marom today and they replaced the unit. Let's see if that works.

Many thanks to Marom for the service! :-)
