sound crystal,
i think that this no interfaces that can save cpu...buy a better cpu it is much cheaper.... each soundcards has his own drivers, digital converters, conections, everything......
no its not only useful to have external gear.... if you dont want more ins/outs...stay with audiophile 2496 if you are happy...

if u use only soft synths then go for some dsp sound card imo
dsp's can give ur cpu bit rest

multiface is verry powerfull setup
sometime ppl dont even use it for 50% of his usage and if u dont have hardware then it wont realy help u more than audiophile (exept of that rme AD/DA is much more clystal)

motu mk2 gives ya something bit less strong at almoust half price than rme
but again if u dont gona use hardware its bit useless......           Jesus didnt dance, but his beat goes on

i will spend more than U$ 1300 (pci + multiface + pcmcia card). I know that it is the best but its too expensive for me...
especially when we are talking about brazil!

if you don't have hardware synths, m-audio audiophile 24/96 pci (internal card) is enuff... no need for external stuff.. only if you are using an laptop...

A friend told me that Motu is really unstable with a PC. The moment he switches to 96K his sytem would crash. It works perfect with the Mac though.

Anybody else have similar issues with the Motu?
