motu 2408 mk2 , pci 324, and a new pc problem

i got i ratherly new computer, 2 month old, and i got my hands on a second hand MOTU 2408 mk2, with is pci 324 card, after downloading the pci 324 driver, and downdate my windows 7 into xp i installed the driver as the readme says, and yet still it doesnot see it as the main audio inteface, also, i conected the 2408 mk2 to the pci using firewire cable
althoge my partner told me that it was conected by one of the tascam slots using an unknow by me form of cable, i don't the user manual
and will be gladfull for some helpfull answers, i'm here if you didn't get any of my problems or need any more info in order to help, thx agian and great week, rei InnerZone |

'and yet still it doesnot see it as the main audio interface.' so i assume windows sees it. disable the other sounddrivers and windows might pick up your motu. if windows does not see at all the motu, its broken, or the pci-installation is not right or you have the wrong driver. the tascam story is just an extra option to use this format but has got nothing to do with your issue. go to the motu website.

so i suppose to use the firewire inteface?
in the sound prefernece of the pc, i see the motu drivers on the hardware section, but in "voice" & "sound" it says "no audio inteface" or something, i got an hebrew XP
as for now the motu website directed me to user's forum so this is what i do, i try to download the firewire driver , but only tommraw i will see if it will fix the problem, any info about where to download the users manual? |

check first in your host if you see the driver, dont think you can just use it with a general firewire connection. you need the pci connection probably. otherwise it would be advertised as a firewire card and not as pci. but the connections look similar.

yes yes, the pci card is installed, and he has 3 fire wire ports ofcourse, doesn't a normal 6-6 fire cable will be good?

hihihih thx yaron, in the end, i can always call marom musical instruments, but i know i don't need to do so couse it a DIY products
