Hi guys I want to builf a new computer. I do not want to get the latest of generations because it tends to be pricey.

I have a Pulsar 1 soundcard, and I want to get an Intel Pentium 4, but not the last generation.

Now the question is what Asus MB model should I get. I want to run Cubase SX 2, VSTs and Reason.

I have been out of the hardware race for a while, so any help to let me know about current bus speeds, processor speeds, RAM capacity, etc... would be awesomely appreciated. I have a 1 Ghz right now and it is starting to feel the crunch

U need Intel P 4, around 2,8 Ghz( if possible 1mb cache) , 1 gb Ram would be a great idea, Fsb Should be preferably 800 (or 533 is ok too ) .

Lesser can do it , but this is what i have .. with Htt even, and running with Xp i can have some serious vst and vstis running in rewire with Rsn , but i still hit the crunch ...

Yes this looks fine , .. now it would be fine if you bought a CPU, that supports Htt , with a large cache
go for it            3ó BooOoM ShanKaRA 3ó

Don't get asus, I've also decided to built my pc about 1 year ago. opted for asus and I have had problems with it twice now.

Wished I had saved some money and waited a bit more to get a mac foolish me.           "Great things are only possible with outrageous requests." Thea Alexander
