What do you use White Noize for?
How do you create it?
And, what's your Trick/Tip for EQ, Comress or whatever for White Noize?

with a snappy comp you can make some kind of clap/snare compressing the noise, just use the noise from a synth and use lot of compression to make the percussive thingy ,then you can use the filter and envelop or what you want to shape more the sound ,can be good to layer with 909 sounds ,you need quality comp for that or it ll sux. |

I find it being used more and more today especially in the techno/minimal/house music.
But most of the times it sounds like it is used too much and without enough care...
After all, it is a sound that uses all the freqs and in a random way...

I generate white noise long wav on Soundforge. Bounce it and then load it into a sampler.
Another easy way to make white noise is with Angular Momentum ClapLab!
Freeware, it only generates that kind of sound.
You can adjust all parameters very easily.

For those minimal techno noise use long sustain, long release!
And strecth the filter envelopes.
They go way beyond that inital display window.
Try to EQ it like a pad, maybe!
Keep the sound between 200/250hz and 5/6khz. I'm not sure.
Compress it with an analog style compressor.
Sidechain it for that breathe effect and add filter automation.

Try open a low pass filter over some white noise over 32 bars, then reverse it (along with the automation) on the drop. Use sidechain compression on the noise triggered by the kick for a cool effect.
I also create my noise with Albino 3, in a few seconds. literally just generate some noise and send it to a filter. |
