ok guys after reading countless reviews i've managed to narrow it down to the Fostex pm1's and the Alesis m1 actives...
i'm inclined towards the fostex's since they go down lower than the alesis but they're a lil more expensive...so can someone please help me make up my mind?

i persontly own tannoy reveal i like them very much tho acoustics is part of general sound.. basses under 50hz become hard to notice the diffrences.. but i still like em alot           www.sattelbattle.com

Guess I'm a bit late, but just thought I'd throw in... I got a pair of Fostex PM-1s a month ago and I've been really happy with them. I also listened to M-audio BX5 or BX8 (whichever the comparable one is) and Alesis mk2 actives. I thought the M-audio monitors sounded horrible - too bright, no bass. The bass on the Alesis was a bit fuller than on the PM1, but IMO the PM1 had much better mid and high range and sounded better overall.
