MOTU Traveler - I use, but works poorly with Inspiron, (MOTU makes bad drivers)

Echo Layla - Always worked great. No problems. About the same price as the Traveler, but involved PCI slot installation.

Firebox - have heard good things.

So..

1. what's affordable?
2. what's reliable?
3. what's the best for your money
and what's a waste of it?
