Its hard to answer this, cause you need to specify the dimension you think of.
For a home studio? interface..how many channels? firewire solution? madi?network? or what?

Or do you talk about big mixing desks?

Whatever you can afford is the best brand!
It´s easy to list big money brands, but in the end favourite brand comes down to how much cash you have.
