words outta my mouth brother! for 5 years i only attended psy gatherings without sponsors. not even by choice, as i never knew this collective tribe as anything else. that's just the route i stumbled upon. i won't make declarations about this or that changing - i only know my experiences and have a great fortune now (increasing with each moment - and no end in sight.) the view is amazing from here. you can see how things are and take for granted that's just how it's going to be.... or you can see how you want things to be *be that change* and make it happen.

peace party people

So who's the biggest commercial sponsor out there? Coca-Cola? Smirnoff?
What kind of crap company sneaks the most in to the big parties arranged? Who should burn?

no one should burn, theyre the reason your having the party. this is not the 60's anymore fellas its all a business. so the answer is ... thank you sponsors, wherez my moneys kid

Sure it's a business, but you don't need sponsors to put on a large dance music festival. Check the Glade, for instance, in the UK; 9(?) arenas of electronic dance music, 10,000 - 150,000 people and completely independantly organised and funded with no sponsorship.

If a festival organiser funds their event with sponsorship from companies looking to tap into the market offered by thousands of young people off their heads in some valley somewhere, from one point of view it can be said that they are no longer in the business of organising festivals - rather they're in the business of delivering up customers to their advertising sponsors.

Maximjou might be happy with being nothing more than another target demographic; I for one am saddened by the appropriation of the free party spirit by those only interested in profit.

Having said that, as someone trying to get his music heard (check the links in my signature, people!), I'd love to play a huge (professionally-organised) commercial festival in Brazil or Mexico as well. What does that make me?           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

well here in austria i've never seen any sponsor's signs at parties. what is fairly common, that some shops (... where you can buy tranceclothes etc.) fund the money for the flyers in advance, and they then don't have to pay a fee to set up a shop at the party.

Yeah! Thats the kind of sponsors this scene should have if it should have anything at all. My point isn't that sponsors is a bad thing (Everything costs money). But it's about what kind of sponsors this scene then should have. I imo think that Coca-Cola, Red Bull, Barcadi and other brands like this is wrong and not in the spirit. Yes, it does help when Barcadi makes killah psychedelic images as their addvertisment in a psy-party. But thats only the visual. The heart is wrong.
