Watch out for them leads and (high) mid effects sounds mate. They're jumping out quite a bit.

Regardless of mixing styles, on a big rig with headroom, too loud high mid sounds, tend to hurt your ears. Try to pack them in nicely and make a more solid sounding mix.

Try mixing with the volume really low some times, it makes easier to spot the sounds that jump out too much.

Try using a compressor with very low ratio (1:1.5) and work transparently on the peaking parts of the spectrum. If you want to be more focused, use a multiband compressor that only (or mostly) works on the band where the resonant filter sweeps, jump out too much.

Peace out.

cheers for the feedback mates

@nectarios: i know what you mean. its one of the things i have a hard time doing, getting consistent levels. my listening setup is unfortunately more than shitty with the room being so small that the bass of my monitors kills me and makes harsh noises sound ok.. will soon move though and for now try to use headphones as reference...           http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/stereofeld-frequenzwechsel

As usual the doc is bombing with nukes here

I personally disliked the sound that comes out in 3:25, imo it was too loud too on the mid-high (I have big ears).
Great sound synthesis and good ideas. I wouldn't call it full-on, but you know - I'm not that good in style definitions

cheers!!

A little too sharp around 5k Hz, but really great composition! (:            http://soundcloud.com/li-fe

I said I like it dirty, not muddy.

good morning gentlemen,

thanks to all your helpful comments i mixed the track new and did some slight changes to the arrangement as well..

it is way smoother and less sharp now + the muddy subs are gone. what do you think about the mix now?

cheers, tim           http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/stereofeld-frequenzwechsel

great story man, i think the mix sounding great, i didnt hear the original so i have no way to compare, but i do think the shimmery noises right at the end are harsh...

overall beautiful though! the little whistling noises at 1.07 could be used more, and the perc at 1.48 could have more high freq? sounds a bit like its underwater i think. synth at 2.15 is awesome composition and synthesis. vibe at 3.30 is excellent. the voice sounding pad thing is a nice touch.

way to go!

great track mate! really digging this one. bass sounds great on my end.

maybe adding a classic goa kick drum roll towards the end to go along with the arp melody might sound nice and create a 'peak', just a suggestion though, love it!           Ovnimoon Records
