hey everyone. first let em thank everyone for you input help and support which have proved very helpfull in my short musical career.
and now let me ask you for more help.
i have a sound card with no midi input, is their a way to hook up a keyboard to somethign else and get fruity to recognize the midi notes?
and fruity has to option to record from typing keyboard. so i fooled around with it and when i pressed a key it made a sound but didnt record it in the step sequencer. what to do what to do

first of all, what kind of sound card do you have? if you have Any type of sound blaster, you can connect midi to it. there's a Joystick output plug which u can hook a keyboard to it.
as for typing to record, hit the record button and it should work. i wouldnt recommend it though... it isnt as accurate as a normal keyboard.

And if the recording is a little inaccurate just change it in the sequencer :) but u probably knew that :)

u could get a midi 2 usb breakbox, but those start from 300 shk and dont lower the latency...
so i would advice u 2 buy a better soundcard!

Tal, If u want to conect the midi controler to your s.card (that doesn't have midi input) then you can use 2 of those ways :
1. Try to locate the Joystick imput and conect it to there if you seem not to find it goto 2 ;)
2. You can buy a USB conection, like : MidiMan 2x2 , 4x4 etc.
if u buy this box then i suggest you to buy more then 2x2 input/output, couse in time you will get more instruments you will need to conect to your computer. |
