just a question...
if i record some monphonic synth...
and pan it to the center is it as good as stereo. or do i have to record it in 2 channels and put on to the left and right>

Does the synth have stereo output...? If so, then of course it is as good as stereo - if it only has a mono output, then just record it in mono - your tracker/sequencer/audio program will figure out to play it in both speakers

- By the way, monophonic doesn't mean that it only plays mono. It means that it can only play one sound at a time - you probably knew that, but the question sort of implies otherwise

Well

Its an electribe and it has two outputs but the sound only comes in parts.
Part 1 and Part 2
so its not multi timbral i guess...

So when I record Part 1 even on a sequencer it only playback on one speaker..SO my question is to balance it in the mix do i pan it, or just copy it and make another track, duplicate and pan one to left other to right.
What do other ppl do in this situation??
