yup ...
many ways to do it ...
in cubase, go to pool, select your file, right clic .. convert file.
in wavelab or soundforge or wathever sound editor,
open a new stereo channel, copy your mono on each side of the blank one, and that's it.
even, it should have a mono->stereo process .. but i never needed that, so not sure
but of course, it will be the same signal on each side like tsabi said.
then if you want to have some pan fx, you should apply something on. |

@le barde, thnx for advice, i tryed those too ,but it didnt sound any better then my mono track ,exept ludness ,the metod with cubase ,sound forge and wavelab are giving you the same option ,well theoreticaly it become stereo because it split signal left and right , it become unisonish witch give you louder signal , kinda doubled from your mono ,instead of real emulation of stereo recording.(I monitor with PAZ also, its easy to see if signal changed even after psuedo witch is not that reach as real stereo signal, also i use my Pioneer hedphones with useful switch between stereo and mono(helped me alot tho))
I am looking for a metod that will alow me to emulate a stereo recording ,not just spliting signal left and right .
@tsabeat ,yes its filtering in spliting, if you familiar with the technik it will be interesting to hear(thanks)(any aplication).
BTW , i hear in many productions is a very dry stereo image without any kind of ambient effects . Its interesting since those are elctronicaly made sounds and have not been recorded ,so it might be some metod of doing that .
thanks in advance.

sorry I can't follow exactly but I'm having a shot anyway.
convert source to mono, hard pan it left. send the mono channel to a group channel via a send and press the button for prefader. now take a phase plugin (eg. http://www.mgaudio.de/modules/main.php?content=download&lang=eng)
hardpan the group to right and delay it with the phaseplugin <25 ms. voila very stereo result with an almost mono signal.

Send the files to a stereo channel, hard pan left and right. (in cubase open 2 mono channels one hard left pan other hard right)
Now there are a lot of diferent ways to make the stereo image "wider". You can cut diferent frequencies at diferent sides. (eg. HPF in one side LPF in other).
You can also set one of the sides to be slightly delayed (bellow 30ms) this will make it sound much wider.
Hope that was of any help.
