just wondering if there's any difference between studio monitors and the small speakers you buy for dj purposes?
if you were just using them at home, would one set do for both uses? |

yes offcourse...
if the dj speakers your talking about are simple
stereo speakers with boost in the bass and the highs
to give it power and sparkel, then they are nothing like studio monitors.
the purpose of studio monitors is to give you as much "objective" sound as possible, meanning monitors have (or supposed to have...) flat frequency response, in order to let you know how
your music realy sounds, and in that way when its
played on normal hi fi stereo speakers later, some
areas of the frequency bandwidth wont be boosted
or cut due to the frequency response of the hi fi
speakers... |
