I went today and listen the m-audio bx8 and the alesis M1... I can have them with the same price... I have ppl telling me that if I have the choise between the 2, I should go for the alesis... more pro stuff... The one thing Im concern about, is that the Bx8 are 8 inches while the Alesis are 6... Is that a big difference you thing?

well... which sounded better to your ear? m-audio or alesis?

choose the ones which sounds better in your opinion.
do not choose by what other ppl say - or, of course if they suggest you and have experience and so on... but not if they say "choose alesis, they are more pro"

ive got the alesis M1 Active .... yes they are nice, yes they are great for the price range... but all my buddies have the Tannoys (active and passive) and they sound to me to have a flatter sound = better (maybe i think)!?!
...my alesis seem to be a bit 'boomy' at the bottom end in comparrison....They seemed great when i heard them in the soud proof/accoustic managed room in the shop.. but lets face it... most of us dont have the 'accoustic perfect ' room to make our music!!!

... finally i guess its what works for you.... or whatever your 'ear' gets accustomed to over time.

yup...thats wot i mean.... i dont regret buying the alesis... but ... next to the Tannoy, the alesis have more 'boomy presence' at the bottom end... (maybe if i did it all again i would get the tannoy ...) they just seem 'flatter' and more 'neutral' (maybe my alesis sound boomy cause of the room they are in)           ---------------------------------------------

I have both the passive Tannoy Reveals and the active Behringer Truths. Both of them are nice, but if i would have to choose i would go with the Truths, because they have a better bass-response and translate way better to a P.A. system. Most of the time i mix using just the Truths, but i still use the Tannoys a lot, since they have a more transparent mid-response.

I have added these http://www.tannoy.com/images/RevA_L.jpg to my research list... It seems that lots of ppl seem very happy with them... of course, if it works for you, it might not work for the others, so Im still in the research process...           • Noize Conspiracy Records •

Go to the Richard Allan mini-site and look for the RA8m monitors. I have these and I can't rate them highly enough. After working with me on them, DJ Mark Allen (remember him?) went out and bought a pair; all the Quirk/Allen & Healey/Hopefiend/Electric Tease/Dallas Kiss tracks were done on them.

Here's a user review of the speakers:

I've recently also converted Chris Organic and Andrew Humphries to RA8m users, and Ott was as impressed with them as it is possible for him to be (which isn't very much, admittedly, but that's just him!)...

On paper the frequency range might not look as wide as some speakers but the response is excellent. These are amazing speakers with the right amp. They're relatively cheap too, at £309 a pair in the UK.

Looks and sound realy interesting... But I have noticed that u said something about the "right amp".... This means that besides the fact that I'm on the process of the right monitors, now i have to get into a process for the right amp... Which means double-confusion...

For the monitor to be active is a plus so, hmmm confusion again....           • Noize Conspiracy Records •
