After some time doing music, I decided it's time to advance, so I'm planning on buying monitors.

I need your advice on entry level monitors.
I'm looking for something that has a relativly flat response (or however you call it) and that doesn't cost too much.
Anything will be better than what I'm using at the moment.

That thread talks about what monitors are and what they are used for. I already know that...

Another thing: I went today to Halilit and they asked 4000 for Event active monitors (20/20 if I remember correctly). Are these good monitors?
And I forgot to ask them if 4000 is for a single speaker or for a pair? It looks a little too cheap for a pair.
And how good are the Alesis passive monitors? And the Yamaha NS ones? I heard that the Yamahas aren't good.

The only Active 20/20 left are the 20/20bas series from Event.
they cost about 800-900 in US so no way they're gonna cost so little here.
I guess 4000 is for a pair or passive 20/20
Project Studio cost much less though and so you have PS5,6 and 8 which decides the subwoofer size.

Event PS-5 and PS-6 are put in equasion with the Alesis M1 active these days though I doubt this.

Alesis Monitor 1 passive is a good warm sound-monitor - though it's passive.

you've got a big collection of monitors:
Genelec which are really expensive.
Roland and Mackie are also good but expensive also damn.
check out for the versions.

KRK monitors are really good ones and so the cost "good" - KRK really famous in America's biggest sound studios.

Yamaha monitors I don't know - they must be the cheapest.

there are HHb Circle also and some other English brands too.
look for them on the net :)
you have to hear them in order to buy them...

good luck and buy yourself a good pair.

Yo, remember that if you want to buy passive
pair, you need to buy a good amplifier too.
(the amplifier quality is 40% of the sound you hear).
so sometimes is better to pay more money on active monitors, then pay less on passive pair.
(because it will cost more with good amp).

Yes, I know that.
What are good amps anyway?
