I israel, monitors cost alot! with 700$ though, you could get yerself some Alesis M1 active I think. and maybe you could scrub up to Event Ps-5 or Ps-6
Genelec are pretty expensive - Krk also - check them out theough anyway.

tdme, if you want monitors for a long time, not just for buying them and replace them after 2 years, you need to save more money because i think that very good monitors cost at least 5000nis. I have the alesis monitor 1, and i bought them becuase i had no money and needed monitors fast. now when i look back i think it was better for me to wait few months and buy something more pro.
now for the real question: you can buy KRK passive Rok-it, they are very good but you have to buy a good amp and it will cost you 1000 or 1500 (only the amp) so this is another problem...
i suggest you to wait and buy good active monitors when you have the money..
cheers, |

When buying monitors, the most important thing is to get an " honest " sound. This means that they reproduce the noise going into them as closely as possible, Therefore you should take three or four of your favourite cd's to play through each monitor you are considering buying. Take cd's which you are very familiar with and that you have listened to on many different stereos. That way you should have a good idea of what they are.." meant " to sound like and will have a better chance at buying " honest " monitors. |
