I got the Samon resolv65a and i must say that they are the best
I don't know the 80a but 65a have a optimal clear sound.
Go get them, now!!

i have the resolv 65a as well and i am most happy(my album is on the way truely)-they are good monitors for sure.
now the Behringer Truth for sure also good and even moer strong than the samson.but in here is the problem.to get a true reference with them you need to pick it uo to the top in the volume(hugh power),and than it depend in the room(acustic--if it is possible).the samson 80 are good also but more expensive from than the 65a.
all depend for what you search.
go with a c.d that you know well(original)---better rock or something with the full hz.listen to the c.d in the both of the monitors and check where you hear it as most close to how you know it sopose to be hear... the best way
cheers
ps-i work in sound company and many work with the Behringer Truth.but for me it is the samson

Get whatever suits you. Just listen to plenty PLENTY of reference material ("commercial" stuff {or at least stuff that sounds good to you}) on your monitors to identify their "strengths" & "weaknesses" (so to speak).
I think that is way more important than choosing the "best" monitors as there is no "perfect" solution.
PS - I have the Truth's and they good 4 me. Treble's maybe a bit harsh after a long session...

I would use Behringer Truth as Home Theater System because their lows do not fit clean mix creation .
For me and many others work on very low sounding monitors is impossible because lows make music "sound beautiful" when we need the "true picture" .
Just an idea .
Now about Samson , they are much better in "Lows issue" than Truth but from my expirience with monitors sounding .
Low as hell : Echo Event , Behringer Truth
Clear Mid : Alesis A1 ,Yamana NS10m/MSP , Dynaudio , Genelec .
Wierdos : M-Audio , Samson
Low as hell : i don not advice to use and if you do so use with them good mid monitor for mixing
Clear mid : are Best for music creation but NS10 have weakness of bass loss beacuse their low cut is to high.
Weirdos : while all other monitors have three bands (low , mid , high ) seperated and heard these are do not make difference between bands and i do hear one stream and not frequency seperation .
Hope this help someone here .
Most of ppl said here their own monitors as best or the ones they know so it means that they do not know anything about monitors so better solution will be to buy what you like and learn them sound ............. As how i did and i pretty happy with my results .
Remember noone knows shit all this subjective . I like my car and i like my look but if others do ? is the main question of my life . |

Hey man,
There is no such a big diferense between the
two monitors.
All I can say to you is the Behringer Truth
monitors aren't the best for small rooms because of their low freq.
Peace...
