Electrostatic headphones is a whole different story, and until now i haven't yet seen anyone in pro music production using them. I have no idea why, as they seem to be very good performers overall. I suppose it could be their price.
The AKG-1000 were discontinued a couple of years ago, if i remember right. The best electrostats always were the STAXX.

What i´ve heard when it comes to electrostat gear is two things:
No.1 expensive as fuck,
No.2 Lack punch in the lower regions, not sure if thats the case for electro-headphones but for speakers they tend to lack bass and this a general problem with electrostat-speakers
Concerning the K-1000: yes they are discontinued but second hand is always a option when it comes to babies like thoose Demand recognition for the Armenian genocide 1915

No.2, you are absolutely right. I knew i was forgetting something. I'm getting too old for this shit.
A friend told me once that the biggest mistake we make is that we believe we live, when in reality we are sleeping in the waiting room of life. |
