I have a pair of Samson Resolve 65As. Since I got a new DSL modem the monitors have been humming when 70% of websites I goto are open. If I switch to another window the hum disappears.
Any ideas? |

A wild guess:
If it's affected by how bright the contents on the screen is I guess that could happen with a groundloop.
In that case get a groundloop eliminator or a DI box with ground lift.

Hey Chemogen,
Good to check you here. I use to have that problem with my Iburst modem. It was too close to my monitors. When I moved it further away it stopped completely. Maybe try something like that |

a little bit weird, but it happened on my computa so I thought I'll share it here.
I got a mac G5 with MOTU 828 FW and an M-Box Mini interfaces. The Mbox has some annoying ground loop that I cannot get rid of, it happens every time the interface is used.
Now, the weird thing is that quite a few web pages that contain all kinds of audio (ads, multimedia content etc.) seems to opt for the Mbox and not for the (default) MOTU, meaning some pages create humming in my computer too, even if the Mbox chnnel in my mixer is muted.
You did not mention if you're using a PC or a Mac but I suggest you'll check thoroughly all the properties of Audio in your computer (OS, browser, sound card etc.) to see if any of them directs to your other sound card (the original one that came with your computer).
Or maybe a different browser. Or new drivers for your card.
Hope it'll help.....

Chemogen, is this a laptop or a desktop?
Allot of so called ground loop issues with laptops are just bad power supplies. Getting a better power supply often fixes this.

Desktop...I moved the plug extension away from the monitors and that worked perfectly. |

Noise when using the mouse is also a symptom of a ground loop.
