Hi all,

I am wondering what is the best and safest way to connect my monitors to the PC.
directly to the sound card? or via a mixer?
right now my monitors are connected directly to my sound card, but I am afraid from harming them in case of a sudden electricity peaks or shut-down. (Will mixer prevent it?)
But in the other hand, wouldn't the mixer colour the sound?

Well, I have the Deta44 as my soundcard (costed me a bit more than 5$...
And yet, last week I had a sudden electricity fall and the noise that came out of my monitors was so loud and distortioned that I thought I lost them... but they survived it.
In case I like to connect them to my mixer (behringer 602A) How do I do it?

same thing with right monitor 3/4 wire

Wrong....

You use 1/4" balanced jacks (i.e. stereo jacks), or even better XLR if your desk has them, and go out of the Control Room/Monitor Out to the amp or active speakers.
That way if you wanna record out of the main out to DAT or soundcard at 0dB, you do not have to drive your self deaf. You can have the master fader at 0dB and keep the level of the monitors at the desired setting.

Make sure you use balanced cables as well.
