Short: Three monitors can be used to produce professional:
Dynaudio BM6 (infected), Mackie HR824 (shpongle), Genelec 1031 (most professional studios).
Which of those is a matter of taste. I prefer the dynaudio, which are also the cheapest.
I listened to 10000000 monitors and talked to a lot of studio owners, and after all I tell you the rest is BULLSHIT.
for the price the event 20/20 are "ok".
But this is the most important part of you music chain, so don't spoil it with bad monitors. Better spend more money and just one time. |

Hello guys and girls.
i have been doing a research about monitors for a while and i listened to allot of good monitors and allot of bad monitors.
it is all depends on your budget and how much would you like to invest in a good to exellent monitors.
afcourse the prices of those monitors starting with low quality monitors at 300$ and could rise to the sum of 10,000$
for us it was Event tr-8
it a next level monitors after Event 20/20 and it is a very good monitor for our music, it gets down to 35Hz so we can make good basslines and it is Umplified with 2 amp's in each monitor.
the only mistake the event makes is that the sound get a 'too much' beaty, it is not 100% flat for as but very close to it.
it costs 500$ for each unit. for pair its 950$

"wich is the best monitor for produce music"
non! It all about learning how your speakers sound. But if you want the best monitors you will need alot of money. One of the standards monitors around the world is yamaha ns10. They are not standard because they sound good cause they dont! they have been around so long now so most of the people knows how they sound... hope you ´get the piont..... by the way how can anybody tell which monitors are best, all monitors, hifi-speakers etc sound diffrent.. |

This thread looks like forever huh..
Just wanted to second my assumption -
Dynaudio BM6 are mothers of monitors. For those with small rooms and relatively not high budgets. They are SO accurate and SO focused that I am inlove.

I'm very happy with my Richard Allan RA8 monitors. They cost £250 direct from the factory; I drive them with a Cambridge Audio amp. Luckily they work really well in my room. I took them to a session with Mark Allen when we did the Rotatum track (Matsuri) and he bought a pair soon after. I've just done a track with Chris Organic and he was talking about trading his Dynaudios in for a pair of Richard Allans and a decen amp.
It's all what you're used to, though. The more you spend, the better monitors you will be able to get; the better monitors you get, the more potential you have to get good mixes. Not that you can't get great mixes off cheap speakers - Ott uses a £50 ghetto blaster to mix on - or that having Genelecs automatically means your mixes will be any good - it just means that you hear more of what is actually going on.
Whether you have the ability to understand what you hear is another matter.
