On the same topic 'Monitors'
What is the difference of active and passive monitors? which one is better for home studio a passive or a active? |

To work passive monitors you'll need to buy a seperate amplifier. Active speakers have an amplifier built in so you don't have to get a seperate one. Also in active monitors the amp is matched to the speakers perfectly.
So, I think you should get active, thats what I'm getting (hopefully eventually) |

I use Alesis M1 MK2 Active, i am very pleased with them... i use them along with a M-Audio delta 44 soundcard... I have perfect sound... try them out!

The Dynaudio acoustics BM6 are really something
About the BM15, I am not not so sure but M1 supposed to b really good ( and extremely not cheap )

Genelec has real good sound in the right enviroment... The finish people is atleast good at something

I have just bought the M-Audio BX8 monitors 2 weeks ago, and they are great. I like the way they sound much better than the event ps6 or the tannoy reveal. |

I believe the BX8 are kinnda small right??? in case u have little space for youre studio this could be a good choice...

U r confusing it with the BX5 (or the older SP5) the BX8 are 8" and they are really powerfull (u can ask my neighburs ... )
The monitors also have some parameters U can configure by yourself in order to adjust them exactlly to your working env. (like if they are position in a corner or close to a wall or that your room is small etc...)

anyways, its a good choice.... if you are going with 8" basses make sure u tell the neighbours...

well, i'm planning to buy some monitors too. i'm searching for some that are not tooooo expensive....up to 500 - 700 euro thats ok....
what would u suggest, (besides of M1 MKII that everyone'd suggest ;-)
i will head onto some shops in zurich next week. should i bring there some cd? should i take a cd whichs style comes near to mine?
