I would like to buy new speakers Adam A7x but my room is only 3x3 meters. Do you think these speakers are too big for the room or they will be fine ? I am also considering some acoustic treatment.

Good advice here http://therecordingrevolution.com/2011/04/13/3-tips-for-choosing-studio-monitors/

I use 5" monitors in my basement and they're fine. I tried a friends 8" ones and the sound was too much.           Cuntus Maximus.

Room treatment is say will do more than bigger speakers.           Cuntus Maximus.

Bigger speakers, besides providing a fuller picture are easier to listen to at lower volumes.

The pressure is always going to be on the room treatment, 'cause due to the small size it's prone to have tons of reflections and other problems. That doesn't change with the woofer size: only the frequency response and the power available changes with that. It will probably reveal more of everything, including the acoustic problems of the room.

Depending on your setup, the iso acoustics stands are really good. Check it out, it's as if the speakers are floating in the air, decoupled from the surface that's supporting them. This helps. Bass traps are mandatory too! You can make big ones using cheap materials such as rockwool - works a treat! Same thing for the rest of the panels. Much better then paid for solutions from music stores by a long run. Browse Mark Mozart blog for more info on this - that guy has put together some real helpful advise on this department

Cheers
